THE MISSION OF ROMANIA.
For many of us, nutrition has never crossed our minds. That’s because we’ve always had it. But for orphans in Romania it’s a different story. Every 6 seconds malnutrition steals another child’s life. Fortunately, this generation is grasping the fact that they
can make a difference, and with that comes great change. We see the need and we fill it, that’s the life-changing experience a mission provides. With Mission Romania 2010, we can give purpose to this generation and give Romanian children hope to a brighter future.

Meet Leesha.
Hi! I’m Leesha! Well, I’m a college freshman and I’m not totally sure what I want to do with myself. I go to Navarro Community College in Waxahachie. It’s small but it’s only the beginning. I am currently dating a wonderful person named Matthew and he pushes me to be everything I can every day. I love to read, I just finished the Twilight Saga for all you Twilighters out there! I also like to write and sing and dance. Anything creative or any way to express myself! If there is funky music playing or a blank canvas I’ll be there dancing and painting to my hearts content! I wouldn’t say that any type of music is my favorite...I love it all! Country makes me feel close to my roots, hip hop makes me wanna dance, classical makes me feel spiritual and thoughtful, rock makes me feel tough and ready to take on anything. I’m a happy person and I try to make it my goal every morning to see the beauty around me and learn more every day! It’s so often tha t I take for granted how great life really is! So I guess you could say I’m passionate about being passionate for life! We constantly look over how cool the world around us is! Think about how intricate your body is and all the plants and even the man-made machines. How lucky we are to breathe and see and sing and express ourselves and have relationships and not to mention how lazy we get to be with all the technology we have! God created animals and plants and music and love and dance.. all knowing that these things would obsess and intrigue us... he’s good!!!
In Leesha's words.
I think it’s so sad that in our day and age the level of concern for not only the well being of God’s children but the Earth itself has fallen so low. Most American’s spend their days focusing only on how they can help themselves, how they can make everyone else notice them or how they can get ahead in life. When really and truly, if everyone was concerned with the well being of the people around them, much less the people across the continent, then I believe they would find a new source of contentment. By allowing ourselves to be so self-indulgent we are ignoring the simple truth about people...we all need each other! Relationships are the basis of our existence. Our relationship with God is what gives us life, our relationships with each other are what keeps us going day to day, our relationship with the Earth, as of right now, is currently hurting us physically and mentally. Only when we can learn to love one another will we be truly happy. It gets me so excited to see people and organizations like Global Rebirth actually doing something! There are people out there who need our help and I am so pleased to be able to give that! This experience, for me, would be life changing! I feel very provoked to create change, but this, this would just let me soar with dreams for our future. I want to help! To fix the beauty that we’ve wronged! I want to make a difference! To leave the world a better place than when i left it!
Goal and progress.
I am currently paying for my car payment and my school! So, frankly, I would need a lot of assistance. I only have about $1,000 saved back and as hard as it’s going to be to spend my savings from the past 2 years... the opportunity being set out in front of me is far too great to pass up!

I work full time and go to school full time as well so I haven’t been able to do anything as big as I would like! ( I normally do things big!) Mostly I’ve just been offering my dad any help I could with trying to find a new job ( he was recently laid off-no worries though it’s all in the big man’s plan) and doing chores around the house for my mom. I’ve also been picking up extra shifts waiting tables at Pappadeaux in Duncanville. ( I normally do to-go but waiting tables provides me with a little extra money when I can find the time)
What this trip means.
For me, this trip is love! This trip makes my heart sing. To know that there are mommy’s babies and daddy’s little girls out there that are in need and I’m hopefully going to get to be the one to answer them...is an unexplainable feeling. Also, knowing that God is up there looking down at me going “Yes! That’s my girl!” Good grief I don’t even know how else to say it but it’s just so awesome! This trip would just mean the world to me!
